What to expect from The Now Massage?
The Now massage is Bassage Body & Mind’s signature treatment. However, it is not a one-size-fits-all therapy that uses the same techniques, in the same order, for everyone. Instead, you receive a tailored session, intended for your unique needs.
Our Now massage uses an individualised combination of massage, stretching, and deep breathing techniques for healing deep-rooted tension. Over time, we all accumulate stresses inside our bodies, but where they develop and how they affect us to differ for everyone.
Why Combine Techniques?
Each Now treatment involves massage mixed with stretching and breathing. This is known to be more effective than either stretches or massage alone for relieving pain, restoring mobility, and restarting healthy blood flow and nerve signals to areas known as trigger points.
Trigger points are the “knots” you may feel in tense muscles. They are localised spots of accumulated tension, and we often don’t know they’re causing pain or restriction until a therapist starts working on them.
Inside trigger points, the excess tension has led to reduced blood flow and interrupted nerve signals.
They stay in their frozen position as a result, and other areas of the muscle, or another muscle entirely, must work harder to compensate. You are then more likely to feel sore, restricted, or tired in these areas, too.
During the massage, the compression techniques first create a pressure change, which stimulates the return of healthy circulation and nerve signals. Then, stretching restores length and mobility to the muscle, helping it to re-learn how a healthy movement pattern works.
